Minimum Qualifications Sixty semester credit hours, 35 of which must have been in the environmental/engineering sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, geology, statics and dynamics, or strength of materials*;
OR
Two years of engineering technician experience, one year of which must have been in drilling, development, or production for oil, gas, solution mining, or underground gas storage.

Duties Description Assist in the environmental and technical review of applications for oil, gas and solution mining well permits. Perform pre-drilling environmentally oriented inspections of drilling sites; safety inspections of equipment and its orientation at the well site; and monitor all phases of drilling, production, and plugging operations including casing, cementing, and stimulation to ensure adherence to rules, regulations, and special permit conditions. Assist in responding to and investigating complaints; assist in compiling maps, records, reports, and related information; and assist in input and analysis of computer data.

Additional Comments After successful completion of one year as a Mineral Resources Technician Trainee, Salary Grade 11, you will be advanced without further examination to the title of Mineral Resources Technician 1, Salary Grade 14.

*If you qualify based on completed coursework you MUST also submit a copy of your transcript along with a list of qualifying courses with your application. This must include the course title, the name of the college or university, the number of semester credit per course, and the date of completion.
