Duties Description Under the general direction of the Resident Engineer, the incumbent will: assist in managing the budget and monitor expenditures? ensure compliance with State and Department purchasing procedures while preparing purchase orders, change notices and vouchers? reconcile incomplete or incorrect invoices with vendors; perform a variety of personnel/payroll functions including: appointment processing, new employee orientations, payment of various benefits (i.e., work clothing, SAD pay, Shift Lump Sum, etc.), and assist supervisors and employees with various personnel related issues (i.e., time and attendance, employee benefits,etc.). Incumbent must become familiar with and proficient in the use of a variety of computer applications (i.e., MAMIS, HRIS, AS400, TRINFO, Word, Excel, etc.). The candidate will be responsible for supervising one clerical employee. The successful candidate must have the initiative necessary to work independently, ability to multitask, and capacity to appropriately handle a wide array of customers and situations. Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
