Minimum Qualifications:
Employees of New York State: Be a current Dietitian 2 AND; Either 1. have a current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD); Or 2. have your New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition AND have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours** of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD.
Open Competitive: two years of post-registration/certification professional administrative experience* in a food or nutrition program of which one year MUST have included supervision AND; Either 1. have a current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD); Or 2. have your New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition AND have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours** of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION/PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Nutrition Services Administrator 1 organize and directs the food preparation and food service program in secure services and provides professional dietetic services to the individuals who reside there. Other duties include:
? Clinical caseload including completion of all admission, quarterly and annual nutrition assessments which may include individual and group counseling.
? Evaluates nutrition operations in relation to treatment objectives, philosophy and practices, and institutes appropriate changes.
? Supervises control of quantity and quality of food portion and their delivery to the individuals.
? Supervises sanitary inspection and maintenance of hygienic control and safety standards.
? Plans and supervises training programs as needed.
? Interviews applicants for employment and recommends their employment
as indicated.
? Serves on various administrative planning, coordinating and dietary
committees as designated.
? Regularly visits preparation and service areas to ensure compliance with
State and Federal regulations, department procedures and agency policy.
? Accomplishes menu planning via menu planning committee meetings to meet the diverse needs of the population.
? Monitors the storage of food and ensures compliance to avoid waste and spoilage.
? Working knowledge of ICF Federal guidelines as they pertain to dietary and reviews deficiencies identified by regulatory agencies and ensures the implementation of corrective action.
? Coordinates special events with head cook.
? May assist in purchasing of food, equipment and supplies.
? May develop lesson plans and teach classes to the consumers
? Other duties as assigned.
