Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be reachable on the Secretary 1 eligible list or eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
To be eligible to transfer under Section 70.1, candidates must have one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a salary grade 9 or higher. If the candidate is not currently incumbering, or has not previously held a keyboard or secretarial title, the candidate must take and pass a typing proficiency exam to qualify for transfer.
Duties Description This position is in the Attorney General's Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau. The Bureau addresses criminal conduct throughout New York State, including complex financial crimes that cross county lines. The Bureau includes attorneys, investigators, auditors and analysts who conduct in-depth, long-term criminal investigations and prosecute cases from charging through conviction. The Bureau also investigates and prosecutes a wide variety of cases, including consumer fraud schemes, public benefits fraud, embezzlement, unlicensed practice of a profession, environmental crimes and homicides, based on referrals from New York State agencies.
Duties:
• Provide traditional secretarial support to Bureau managers, Assistant Attorney Generals, and other personnel, as assigned.
• Handle phone inquiries from attorneys and the public to Assistant Attorney Generals.
• Maintain Bureau Event Calendar for the Chief Deputy AG for Criminal Justice.
• Archive files into PAM (Paperless Archive Management) database.
• Serve as a support liaison with court personnel and agency personnel, assisting with inquiries and contacts.
• Handle travel arrangements, vouchers and approvals.
• Bureau liaison to Administration/Human Resources Bureau.
• Responsible for Weekly Supply order.
• Maintain Grand Jury/Disposition Approval Log, to include serving as contact person for Grand Jurors.
• Input case information and conduct research in SilverCase (case management database).
• Assist in supervising/training of support staff and interns.
• Provide support for mail processing, photocopying, scanning, and law document assembly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments Able to accommodate flexible hours, between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday – Friday
