Minimum Qualifications Must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or be a current New York State employee eligible for transfer under Section 52.6, 70.1 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law. To be eligible for transfer under Section 52.6, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a 52.6 title allocated to grade 16 or higher. To be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title. New York State employees with one year of permanent competitive service in a position within two salary grades and possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College. Applicants must have passed the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) or Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT) exam.

Candidates may be required to serve a 2-year traineeship that leads to the grade 18 position. The traineeship includes a comprehensive training plan that will be individualized based on the candidate’s experience. Individuals certified eligible for the 55-b/c program must possess a bachelor's degree to meet the education qualifications for the traineeship. Duties Description The selected candidate will act as an executive initiatives coordinator for Project Management. The candidate will provide additional support, as needed, for initiatives which support the priorities set by the Acting Commissioner and Acting Executive Deputy Commissioner. The incumbent will be tasked with advancing OPWDD’s priorities in an efficient manner and will report directly to the Acting Executive Deputy Commissioner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Working with agency leadership to advance agency priorities.
• Project management of multi-divisional projects, transformation initiatives and key agency projects.
• Collection of information and completion of monthly summary reports of all outstanding projects and status of open items/deliverables/risks for use by Acting Commissioner and
Acting Executive Deputy Commissioner for leadership oversight.
• Assist with internal communication strategies in support of agency initiatives and strategic priorities.
• Facilitate internal project meetings to overcome barriers to ensure on time deliverables.
• Manage the collection of meeting materials for Acting Commissioner and Acting Executive Deputy Commissioner for external stakeholder meetings.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise the implementation of Transformation Panel Recommendations.
• Prepare, coordinate and manage Leadership and COLT Plus meetings, inclusive of agenda development, coordination of scheduling, development/collection of appropriate materials to
support the meeting agenda and summary of formal meeting minutes for distribution.
• Coordinate the annual Special Friends holiday giving initiative.
• Complete meeting minutes, track deliverables, and complete follow up on deliverables for meetings attended by the Acting Commissioner and Acting Executive Deputy Commissioner.
• Perform other duties as required.
