Salary RangeFrom $59108 to $74986 Annually
Minimum Qualifications For permanent appointment:
One year of permanent competitive state service in any of the following titles to be transfer eligible: Assistant Building Construction Engineer, Grade 20, Civil Engineer 1, Grade 20, or Environmental Engineer 1, Grade 20.
For provisional appointment:
Must have proof of successfully passing the Fundamentals of Engineering licensing examination (FE) AND one year of qualifying experience in the design and construction of parks, roads, bridges, pool facilities, pavilions, marine facilities, dams, maintenance garages, water and/or wastewater treatment facilities, or recreation facilities.
Duties Description Under the direction of the Capital Facilities Manager, the Park Engineer will be responsible for:
• Preparing plans, specifications and cost estimates for park facilities and enhancement projects following applicable codes and standards.
• Supervising and inspecting work done by contractors and reviews changes to meet field conditions.
• Reviewing and recommending for approval contract documents and payments.
• Coordinating project activities with contractors, consulting engineers, and agency staff and resolves any problems and/or disputes.
• Preparing applications for permits from various authorities including the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.
• Reviewing and recommending for approval plans made by consulting engineers.
• Inspecting agency facilities to determine the need for repair, rehabilitation, and maintenance and prioritizes proposed projects.
• Supervising construction and rehabilitation work done by agency staff and procure materials required to complete such projects.
• Serving as the engineer-in-charge for major projects and surveys.
