Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of responsible management, administrative or supervisory experience in the health services field including:
Two (2) years as manager of one or more of the following areas functioning in support of clinical or treatment services: budget, fiscal, human resource management, affirmative action, information systems management, or support services in a general hospital, community mental health center, health care facility or a facility or agency providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities or mental retardation.
AND
EDUCATION:
A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards in hospital, health care, public or business administration or a related field.
OR
EXPERIENCE:
Seven (7) years of the experience described above including three (3) years as a manager as described above.
AND
EDUCATION:
A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards.
Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.
Duties Description Under the general direction of the Director, Psychiatric Research Institute and in close collaboration with the Deputy Director, Psychiatric Research Institute, Director, Psychiatric Research, and the Director of Quality Management, the incumbent will have responsibility for the day-to-day direction of administrative management services (human resources, fiscal and support) of the facility. The Deputy Director, as part of the management team of the facility and in collaboration with the Vice Chair for Administration and Finance of Columbia Psychiatry, assists in providing administrative leadership and oversight of facility operations and support services.
Additional Comments Salary:$128,643 - $161,809 plus $3,026 Downstate Adjustment
New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) is seeking candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 - Administration. NYSPI is a State-operated research facility at which world-renowned Research Scientists conduct research in biomedicine, neuroscience, experimental therapeutics, clinical interventions, and mental health services relevant to patients with mental illness. Since its inception, NYSPI has been at the forefront of psychiatry, making major contributions to understanding the nature and causes of mental illness and its clinical care. Located in Manhattan overlooking the Hudson River and George Washington Bridge, NYSPI provides a state-of-the art environment for patient care, education, and research. The Institute is also the primary location of research and education activities for the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and is affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital. Background Investigation and Fees:
