Minimum Qualifications To be considered, candidates must have:

Board Certification in Psychiatry issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or clearly equivalent certifying body.

AND

A minimum of seven years of extensive professional experience providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness (two years must have been in a position comparable to a Clinical Chief of Service in the New York State Office of Mental Health).

AND

A valid license to practice medicine in New York State or a New York State limited permit and licensure in another state or Canada.

AND

Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.

Duties Description The Clinical Director is responsible for the administration, oversight, evaluation and continuous improvement of all psychiatric, medical, and contracted medical services provided by psychiatric center staff and consultants. The Clinical Director will participate in overall executive management and strategic plan development. The Clinical Director supervises the credentialing and privileging process, and has primary responsibility for developing, updating and implementing clinical policies and procedures and together with the other members of the Executive Cabinet, ensures that NYCCC is in compliance with all Office of Mental Health (OMH), Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other external accrediting bodies’ standards, rules and regulations. Ultimately, the Clinical Director ensures that the clinical mission of the facility is successfully aligned with the overall mission of OMH to promote the mental health and well-being of all New Yorkers so that they can reach their ultimate goal of hope and recovery.

The Clinical Director position at NYCCC offers a unique administrative opportunity to direct the clinical care and lead the physicians at the largest children’s psychiatric hospital in New York State. This role provides a mix of teaching, development and supervision across a continuum of care that includes inpatient, day treatment and clinic services throughout four of New York City’s boroughs. The facility-wide Clinical Director will guide and partner with supervisory physicians with the goal of developing programs that improve the quality of life for the individuals served.
