Duties/ Responsibilities

As a Senior Employment Security Clerk assigned to DEWS, you would perform a variety of functions related to the processing and review of 599, National Emergency Grant (NEG) and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) applications. You would correspond with claimants, employers, other units and agencies to resolve discrepancies and answer questions concerning the operation of the programs.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

You must be a current NYS Government employee eligible for transfer or reassignment.

Reassignment Qualifications: An employee with one year permanent competitive service as a Senior Employment Security Clerk, Grade 9 is eligible for reassignment to any location where a vacancy exists in the title.

Transfer Qualifications: An employee with one year of permanent competitive service in the following titles may apply: Agency Services Representative, Grade 9; Agency Services Representative (SL), Grade 9; Calculations Clerk 2, Grade 9; Clerk 2, Grade 9; and Keyboard Specialist 2, Grade 9.
