Duties/ Responsibilities

Instruct a course(s) recognized by the New York State Education Department; prepare or modify curriculum and course outlines,
prepare daily or weekly lesson plans and conduct a schedule of formal instruction for residents of an Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) residential or secure facility.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

One year permanent competitive service as a Teacher or eligible for 70.1 transfer; OR a Provisional, Initial, Permanent or Professional New York State teaching certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Social Studies or Special Education.

Additional Comments

Fingerprinting is required at the time of appointment, the fee is currently $86.75. In addition, screening through the New York State Register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment will also be required, the fee is currently $5.
