Duties/ Responsibilities |
Incumbents format and type correspondence, reports, forms, charts, and other material to produce final copy that is accurate and grammatically correct. This work is carried out under varying conditions of direction and availability of guidelines and by the skilled use of various kinds of equipment, such as microcomputers with a variety of software packages, other automated systems and equipment, and typewriters. They may also act as a personal secretary to a program specialist or administrator. |

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications |
This position is open to current New York State employees. Candidates must have one year of permanent or contingent permanent service as a Keyboard Specialist 1 or in a title eligible for transfer under section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. |

Additional Comments |
Candidates who are not transferring from a keyboarding title must possess adequate keyboarding skills (i.e. the ability to type 35 words per minute at 96% accuracy) as demonstrated by passing the Keyboard Specialist performance test. |
