Duties/ Responsibilities

The incumbent for this position will be assigned to the Upstate Customer Response Center (CRC) within the Bureau of Information Technology. The incumbent will support our efforts to build a centralized data exchange tool for OTDA and Local District Social Service organizations to use to support their operations and executive staff. In addition to being responsible for the ongoing administration and management of the environment, they will also be instrumental in our plans to continue to add data sources and expand the use and access to this critical data. We do not anticipate any reduction in tasks, scope, or responsibilities over time. Duties include but are not limited to:

Act as primary administrator, manager, developer, and programmer for the OTDA Microsoft (MS) BizTalk 2006 environment and the applications;

Act as MS SharePoint 2003 and 2007 manager, analyst, and developer;

Staff all levels of support on the upstate CRC for several projects. Work with all levels of support staff in technical problem resolution;

Act as Cognos lead for the client/server Series 7 suite of tools that are currently hosted on the local SOS servers;

Act as web-based 8.x model and package developer;

Create standardized documentation. Develop and review standards, policies and procedures;

Work with the legacy programmers and LDSS experts to document the requirements. Identifying the cost and benefits as well as the advantages/disadvantages of the proposed project;

Define, design, and deploy Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) applications; map schemes, create input and output data flows;

Create error handling and alerts. Identify and resolve technical and/or scheduling issues;
Define team requirements. Provide progress reports to management and end users outlining where they are in the project. Identify milestones completed and review what needs to be accomplished next;

Define sites and libraries;

Manage users access and permissions;

Assist in the development of interfaces between applications and libraries;

Create training and user documentation. Meet with users to ensure program meets requirements, proper documentation is in place and that the users have been properly trained on the new system.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

Six years of specialized experience including:

3 to 5 years demonstrated hands on experience in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the server and web components of the combined following suite of software tools;
MS Windows 2000 and 2003
SQL Server 2000 and 2003
MS SharePoint 2003
Cognos Series 7 Suite of tools, client/server
Backup Exec
Adobe Reader
WinZip
McAfee virus

2 years demonstrated hands on experience in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the server and web components of the following suite of software tools;
MS BizTalk 2006
Virtual Machine (VM)
Act as web-based 8.x model and package developer

1 year demonstrated hands on experience in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the server and web components of the combined following suite of software tools;
Microsoft (MS) SQL Server 2005
MS SharePoint 2007
