’RSS’ stands for ’Really Simple Syndication’, a format for distributing and gathering content from sources across the Web, including newspapers, magazines, and StateJobsNY. The web site manager provides a special file, known as a ’feed’, and you install a piece of software, known as an ’aggregator’, in your browser that checks for new feeds.
As mentioned above, you need a modern browser (Firefox 1.5 +, Internet Explorer 7, Netscape 8 or Opera), and if your browser doesn't natively support an RSS feed (for example, Opera has an aggregator built in), you will need to download an aggregator program.
However, if you're using a browser that doesn't support RSS, such as Internet Explorer 6, we have provided a link to a regular web page that links to the latest postings.
All you need to do is to open this link in your browser. If you have any questions or problems, call GOER's Web Services Group at 518-473-3426.
